Holy Family University is proud to launch a new series of Pennsylvania Licensure Board and NBCC-approved professional development workshops for community providers, Licensed Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists. These eight (8) workshops provide NBCC-approved Continuing Education Units (CEU) for licensed professionals, social workers, and other community mental health and social service providers in fulfillment of licensure renewal requirements, employer requirements, or professional development goals.
Professional development is the cornerstone of ethical practice in the field of counseling. According to the American Counseling Association code of ethics (C.2.f. Continuing Education):
Counselors recognize the need for continuing education to acquire and maintain a reasonable level of awareness of current scientific and professional information in their fields of activity. Counselors maintain their competence in the skills they use, are open to new procedures, and remain informed regarding best practices for working with diverse populations (ACA, 2014).
