School of Business Hosts “Branding Yourself” Career Fair

Holy Family University’s School of Business Administration and Extended Learning will host a graduate career fair for ALL Holy Family Graduate students focused on personal brand and networking across all media on Saturday, April 12, 2014, from 8:30am–3:30 pm. The event will be held at its Woodhaven site in Bensalem, PA.

In the morning, marketing expert Elizabeth Hess of Scheerer Bearing Company will deliver the keynote speech. Hess’s presentation will focus on in-person networking from Chamber of Commerce events to business card exchanges. Dr. Barry Dickinson, Dean of the School of Business Administration and Extended Learning, Holy Family University, will then present on using social media for professional gain, and Melissa Fender, Assistant Professor of Management, Holy Family University, will demonstrate best practices for using LinkedIn to its fullest.

The afternoon session will include a panel discussion that addresses job-finding trends, such as resume writing, e-portfolios, what companies look for in applicants, and how these skills and expectations are changing. Panelists include Karen Fox, Manager of Human Resources for Vanguard, and Luz Hernandez, Director of Human Resources for Easter Seals of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Representatives from area professional societies will be present with information on membership benefits.
