Congratulations to Patricia Reed
Pat began with Holy Family University in 2009 as a Switchboard Operator. During her time here, she has also held the positions of Circulation Assistant in Library Services and Receptionist for Institutional Support-Newtown. We are pleased to announce that Pat has accepted the postion of Secretary II, Institutional Support-Newtown.

Congratulations to Loretta Mucci

We would like to recognize Loretta Mucci for her accomplishments in the transition of the Duplicating Department to a a Priniting and Duplicating Services Center. Congratulations Loretta on your promotion from Supervisor to the Manager of Printing and Duplicating Services.

Congratulations to Shannon Brown
We are very pleased to announce that Shannon Brown has accepted the University's offer to become our permanent Director of Library Services, a position she has held on an interim basis since last summer. Shannon is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Holy Family University and holds a master's degree in Library Sciences from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. She has over 16 years of library experience and has held positions as Holy Family's Circulation Coordinator and Technical Services Librarian.

TIAA Spring 2015 Counseling Dates - 3/5 & 4/24
Employees and faculty are invited to schedule an on-site counseling session with a TIAA-CREF consultant regarding your financial matters--including your TIAA investment choices, income options, benefits, contributions, pre-retirement illustrations, & taxation. Our Spring 2015 appointments take place Thursday, 3/5, 8 am-4 pm in ETC 315, and on Friday, 4/24, 8 am-4 pm in ETC 315. To schedule your session, call TIAA-CREF directly at 800-732-8353. Kathy Barkus joins Human Resources Department
Kathy Barkus, former p-t Circulation Assistant in our Library, returns to the university on 2/2/15 as HR Coordinator. Kathy worked previously as an HR Associate for Elmar Window Fashions, Inc. in Willow Grove, as an HR Coordiator at The Forrestal at Princeton Hotel & Conference Center and as an HR Intern for American Re-Insurance Company in Princeton. She holds a BS in Business Administration from Rider University, where she majored in Human Resources Management, and an MS in HR Management from Holy Family University. Please join us in welcoming Kathy back to Holy Family University.

United Way Campaign Wrap-up
I am pleased to report that employees and faculty raised a total of $735 during our annual United Way campaign in November. This donation will help transform local lives through collective action by improving the education, income, health and basic needs of thousands of individuals and families. Daniel Geary joins Library
Holy Family University welcomes Daniel Geary, who joins our Academic Affairs Division on 1/5/15 as Systems Librarian. Previously, Daniel worked as a Special Collections Assistant at Princeton Theological Seminary and as a Library Assistant at Rutgers University's Center of Alcohol Studies. He holds a Master of Library and Information Science degree from Rutgers University, a Master of Arts degree in World History from the University of Pennsylvania, and his Bachelor of Arts degree in History Education from The College of New Jersey. We're glad to have you on board, Daniel!

Christmas Rose - 12/5/14
Holy Family University's Student Government Association cordially invites all employees, faculty, and students to Christmas Rose, 12/5/14, in the Campus Center. The program starts at 5:00 pm with mass, dinner, and entertainment. Admission is free, but tickets (up to 3/person) are required. Tickets are available in CC 212 on a 1st come, 1st served basis through 12/4. We look forward to seeing you there!

Diversity Team Lunch Program - 11/3/14
Holy Family University's Diversity Team proudly announces our next Brown Bag Lunch Seminar for Faculty, Staff, and Students: Action Intelligence and the Sociology of Ebola. The program takes place Monday, 11/3/14, 12:50pm – 1:50pm, in CC 115. The presenter is Jerri Husch, PhD, Sociologist, 2Collaborate Consulting, Intelligence for Humanity Initiative.

Discussion topic: Why is it important to address this global epidemic with culturally appropriate policies and practices? Dr. Husch will also discuss how the solutions to addressing this complicated issue require more than epidemiological and medical insights. Bring your questions and your lunch! (RSVPs not needed.)

Flu Shots Offered - 10/3, 10/7, and 10/14
The Health Services Dept, School of Nursing & Allied Health Professions and Delaire Pharmacy are pleased to offer flu shots to employees, faculty and students on 10/3, 10/7 and 10/14 in the CC lower lobby between 8:30 am and 2:00 pm. Bring your health insurance ID card, credit/debit card or cash. If your health insurance doesn't include coverage for the flu vaccine, the cost is $19.99. (IBC flu shot reimbursement forms will be available that day in the event you don't have your IBC ID card with you, and these forms are also available in the HR Dept lobby - HFH 209.) Reservations are not required; vaccines will be administered on a 1st-come, 1st-served basis.

Ann Sabol Returns to Admissions
We're welcoming back a familiar face! Ann Sabol joined Holy Family University on 9/15 as Associate Director of Graduate and Extended Learning Admissions in the School of Business Administration and Extended Learning. Ann worked previously as Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions at Philadelphia University, with Holy Family University as the Asst. Director of Admissions and as Graduate/Extended Learning Admissions Counselor and before that as Admission's Representative in Rosemont College's School of Graduate and Professional Studies. Ann received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Saint Joseph's University and her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Rosemont College. 

Michael J. Jefferson, Jr. joins Public Safety Department
Someone new is looking out for you at Holy Family! On 10/1/14, Michael Jefferson Jr. joins our Student Life Division as a 3rd shift Public Safety Officer. Previously, Michael worked as a Security Guard with Main Line Protection Services, Inc., McGinn Security, Sheppard Security, and Imperial Security Services and as a Loss Prevention Specialist with Asset Protection. He earned an Electrician Diploma from Thompson Institute in Philadelphia. Welcome, Michael!

Main Campus Parking changes for Fall 2014 semester
The ETC lot is available to Administrative/Professional, Technical staff and Faculty members, while the Aquinas lot continues to be designated for Faculty only. The front and rear of Holy Family Hall are available to Administrative/Professional, Technical staff and Faculty members, and the CFSN marked spots behind Holy Family Hall are for the Sisters only. Parking is still available for staff, faculty, and students at St. Katherine's (southwest corner of Grant and Frankford Avenues). These directives will be in effect for the Fall 2014 semester and will be evaluated in December by Public Safety for permanency.

Clarissa Chiclana joins Academic Advising Center
Effective 8/20/14, Clarissa Chiclana joins Holy Family University as an Academic Advisor. An HFU grad, Clarissa earned a BA in Communications Media Arts with a minor in Marketing/Management. While here, she was a staff writer for the Campus Tri-Lite, a member of the Lambda Pi Eta National Honor Society and a Dean's List recipient. Clarissa most recently worked as an account representative for OHL International in Philadelphia. She was previously an Administrative Associate for Abington Memorial Hospital and a Consumer Department Intern for NBC10-WCAU. Please join us in welcoming Clarissa back to Holy Family University.

School of Education welcomes Jacqueline Fox
Holy Family University welcomes new secretary, Jacqueline (Jackie) Fox, to the School of Education on 8/4/14. Jackie comes to Holy Family from Pennsylvania Mentor, where she served most recently as an Administrative Assistant. She has worked as a Customer Service Assistant for St. Katherine of Siena's SKIP Office and as a Human Resources Associate for Academy Collection Agency. In these positions, she has come in contact with a number of Holy Family graduates, and she feels the education they have received here makes them stand out among other professionals in the fields of education and therapeutics. Please make Jackie feel welcome in her new role with Holy Family University.
