1 – Campus Center
The 85,500-square-foot building was completed in 1988. The facility houses the
chapel, classrooms, a full-service cafeteria, and a 1,000-seat gymnasium. Also
included are a fitness center, locker rooms, three racquetball courts, an infirmary,
the University bookstore, lounges, conference rooms, and student activities and
administrative offices.
2 – Nursing Education Building
Dedicated in April 1977, this four-story classroom and office facility includes
a multimedia laboratory, a nursing practice laboratory for simulating hospital
situations, and electronic carrels for independent study.
3 – St. Joseph Hall
Formerly the residence for the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, St. Joseph
Hall will house resident students starting with the Fall 2005 semester.
4 – Holy Family Hall
The main academic building was constructed and dedicated in 1955. It contains
classrooms, science and computer laboratories, a major lecture hall, media center,
and student affairs as well as administrative and faculty offices.
5 – Labyrinth
The Labyrinth at Holy Family is located on the grounds of the Northeast Philadelphia
Campus between the Library and the Education & Technology Center. With only
one route leading to the center and back out again, the Labyrinth can be used
as a tool for meditation and growth.
6 – Aquinas Hall
Added to the campus in 1992, Aquinas Hall houses business school faculty offices
and one classroom.
7 – John M. Perzel Education & Technology Center
Opened in August 2005, the 62,000-square-foot facility contains eight general
classrooms, four computer labs with 25 personal computers in each, and four classrooms
specially designed to model primary and secondary classroom instruction for the
University's education students. These model classrooms feature adaptive technology
that allows students with certain disabilities, such as vision or hearing impairment,
to be integrated fully into a regular classroom — providing Holy Family's
education graduates with valuable experience using adaptive technology in a classroom
environment. Additionally, the facility contains a 200-seat auditorium, three
conference rooms, a café, student and faculty lounges, and faculty and
administrative offices for the School of Education. It also contains classroom,
studio, and gallery space for the University's art program. The Co-op Center
is housed in this building.
8 – University Library
The library currently houses more than 100,000 volumes selected to support the
learning, teaching, and informational needs of the University community. The
library receives more than 800 journals and other periodicals, including more
than 100 journals in the field of education. Major indexes to the journals are
available (some in book form and others in electronic format) on the library's
main level, along with other reference materials.
9 – Alpha House
This Early Childhood Center is located on Grant Avenue, east of Frankford Avenue.
The nursery school and kindergarten is staffed by certified teachers and is accredited
by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Alpha
House is available as an outside observation site for early childhood students
as well as a resource and laboratory for education majors.
10 – Undergraduate Admissions Center
Located on the southwest corner of Grant and Frankford Avenues, the University
acquired this former private residence in 2002. The building houses the undergraduate
admissions offices as well as a reception area for visitors, an interview room
and a conference area for small presentations and meetings.
11 – Marian Hall
Located
on the southeast corner of Grant and Frankford Avenues (4500 Grant Avenue), the
facility houses the Institutional Advancement division, including the offices
of Alumni & Parents, Development, Marketing & Communications, and Publications.
12 – Garden Residence
Located on the edge of campus, The Garden Residence holds approximately 45
students in apartment style living. There is a kitchen, two bathrooms, a living
area and a washer and dryer in each unit. Apartments either have two double rooms,
or one double room and two single rooms. Cable television service and high-speed
Internet access are available. Limited parking is available to residents. This
area is designated for upper-class students who would like some independence.
13 – Delaney Hall
Located on Stevenson Lane, it provides resident facilities for the Sisters of
the Holy Family of Nazareth who are engaged in various ministries at the University.
14 – Athletic Fields
Located directly behind the Campus Center, the campus center field is the home
for the soccer and softball teams. The soccer field features a natural grass
surface, while the softball field sports a state-of-the-art press box.
