COUN 514 Professional Orientation and Ethics for Student Affairs Professionals (3 credits)
Examines the history, philosophy, roles, and functions of the professional counselor, and more specifically counselors within higher education. Students will become aware of professional counselor organizations, accreditation regulations, self-care strategies, advocacy, and other counselor expectations. Students will demonstrate proficiency in applying ethical and legal consideration in professional counseling.
