EDUC 580 Theories in Educational Leadership (3 credits)
Provides a comprehensive overview of the field of educational administration and serves as the entry level course into the Educational Leadership programs. Students will be exposed to the philosophical and theoretical bases of school governance and decision-making, the organization and culture of schools, and a study of leadership styles. A 20-hour field experience is required. Students will self-assess their leadership style and their personal needs and goals for the program. They will create a Professional Development Plan and will begin the process of building a portfolio, which will be used to monitor progress in the program.
