Specific Admission Requirements
In addition to the general admission requirements previously outlined in Master's Program - Admissions Policies and Procedures, applicants must possess the following qualifications for admission to the Master of Science in Nursing program:
- Applicants must submit evidence of current licensure as a registered nurse in the United States, two professional references (e.g., faculty member, employer, supervisor, professional colleague), and a professional resume
- Applicant must have earned a BSN from a CCNE or NLNAC accredited program,
or
- Must have graduated from an NLNAC accredited nursing program and have a BS or BA in a related area. Applicants who do not have a BSN from an accredited program, must meet BSN equivalent competencies in nursing leadership, research, and community/public health nursing as prerequisites to identified courses (see BSN Equivalent Competencies). BSN competencies may be met through collegiate coursework after admission. In addition, an undergraduate statistics course with a grade of C or higher must be completed prior to enrolling in graduate research courses.
