NURS 316 Nursing and Older Adult Health

Prerequisites: NURS 318, NURS 338, NURS 317

Corequisite: NURS 323, NURS 358

The physiological, emotional, social, spiritual, and environmental changes experienced by older individuals and their families are examined. Healthy aging, restorative care, and supportive interventions to promote a dignified death are explored. The special advocacy issues of older clients and their families are addressed. Concurrent clinical experiences incorporate opportunities to integrate theory, research, and critical thinking skills in a variety of settings.
