SPMM 275 The Sociology and Psychology of Sport

Examines sport from the perspective of the social and behavioral sciences. Emphasizes the societal context of sport as a social institution, as well as the psychological aspects of involvement in sports. Includes discussion of the relationship between societal values and culture, and the behavior of men and women participating in sport in diverse activities.
