Commencement at the Academy of Music

Holy Family University will be conducting both the graduate and undergraduate Commencement Ceremonies at the Academy of Music on Saturday, May 18, 2013.

Academy of Music

The Academy of Music is located at the corner of Broad and Locust Streets in downtown Philadelphia. The graduation ceremonies will be conducted in the Concert Hall of the Academy of Music. Mr. Dean Schneider, pianist and musical director, will entertain the audience prior to and during the formal ceremonies.

Graduate degree recipients should arrive at the Academy of Music no later than 8:30 am and should enter through the Locust Street side door. Upon arrival they will be directed to the Rehearsal Hall by Holy Family guides for robing and queuing up by degree. Graduates will line up by 9 am for the processional into the Concert Hall.

Undergraduate degree recipients should arrive at the Academy of Music no later than 11:30 am and should enter through the Locust Street side door. Upon arrival they will be directed to the Rehearsal Hall by Holy Family guides for robing and queuing up by school or division. Graduates will begin to line up in the Rehearsal Hall at noon.

Guests accompanying the graduates enter through the front doors on Broad Street at the Academy of Music. Doors to the Concert Hall will open at least 30 minutes prior to Commencement. This is 9 am for the morning graduate degree ceremony and 12 pm for the afternoon undergraduate degree ceremony.

Concert HallGuests should be seated in the Concert Hall at least 20 minutes prior to the beginning of the ceremony. All seats are reserved and guests must have tickets to enter the Concert Hall.

Guests will be prohibited from entering the Concert Hall for seating during the Commencement Processional so guests should arrive early and be in their seats before the start of the processional. All adults and children must have a ticket for admission to the Concert Hall. Guests are asked to remain in their seats during both the processional and recessional and not exit the Concert Hall until all graduates and the stage party have exited the hall.
