
Diplomas
At the 9:30 am graduate commencement ceremony, the Vice President for Academic Affairs will announce the names of the graduate degree recipients. Graduates will walk up onto the stage from the orchestra from the steps on the right side of the stage and exit by walking across the stage and down the steps on the left side of the stage after receiving a diploma folder and shaking hands with the President. Graduates should sit down immediately upon returning to their orchestra seats. When all graduates have received their diploma folders and are again seated, the Vice President for Academic Affairs will instruct graduates to turn their tassels from the right side to the left side of their caps which officially signifies that they are now graduates.

the 12:30 pm undergraduate commencement ceremony, the
Dean of each school, or in the case of the Division of Extended
Learning, the Associate Vice President for Extended Learning,
will announce the names of the graduates. Graduates will walk
up onto the stage from the orchestra from the steps on the right side of
the stage and exit by walking down the steps on the left side after receiving
a diploma folder from and shaking hands with the President. Graduates
should sit down immediately upon returning to their orchestra seats. When
all graduates have received their diploma folders and are again
seated, the Vice President for Academic Affairs will instruct
them to turn their tassels from the right side to the left
side of their caps which signifies that they are officially
graduated.
Immediately after both the graduate and undergraduate ceremonies,
graduates who are just completing their programs of study with
the Spring Semester 2008 will be able to pick up their diplomas
in the grand lobby of the Kimmel Center. Signs will be posted on
tables on the stage of the Perelman Theater in the Kimmel Center were advisors
and staff from the Academic Advising Center and the Office of the Registrar
will distribute diplomas to those graduates who completed their formal
degree requirements in Spring 2008. The Perelman Theater is the same location
where all degree candidates line-up for the processional into Verizon Hall.
