
Who we are....
The Counseling Center consists of behavioral health professionals who can
assist you with short-term, individual and vocational counseling, relaxation
training, and referral assistance. We also serve as a resource to students
seeking help
for a friend, and for faculty and staff seeking information on how
to refer a student for assistance.
Diana R. Piperata, PhD, Director

Diana
received both her master of arts in Psychology and doctorate degree in
Clinical and Health Psychology from MCP Hahnemann University in Philadelphia.
She received her bachelor of arts in Psychology from Temple University
and studied at Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY, specializing in
child development psychology. She has experience working with university
students and expertise working in the mental health and substance abuse
prevention and treatment fields with young children, adolescents, young
adults, adults, and families.
Diana's theoretical orientation is influenced by cognitive behavioral
and psychodynamic approaches to counseling. She is a current member of
the American Psychological Association, PA College Counselor’s
Association, and Consortium of Small College Counseling Centers. Diana
has served as a member of various school and community-focused service
groups, including: Department of Health Bureau of Drug & Alcohol
Abuse Programs SAP Guideline Committee; Safe & Drug Free Schools
Program Evaluation Committee; Philadelphia County Children's Safety Initiative;
and NYC Taskforce Against Sexual Assault. She is a trained Behavioral
Health (MH/D&A) SAP assessor and Training for Intervention Procedures
(TIPS) alcohol misuse prevention trainer. Diana is also commissioned
as a catechist for St. Katherine of Siena parish and volunteers as a
soccer coach for the Philadelphia Department of Recreation and Archdiocese
CYO programs.

Zoe received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Delaware
and her Master of Arts degree in Education from Rosemont College. She
worked for the U.S. Department of Education for many years in the Office
for Civil Rights. Her experience includes knowledge of discrimination
laws with respect to educational institutions, with an expertise in disability
services. At Holy Family, Zoe works with students who are eligible to
receive services under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans
with Disabilities Act of 1990. Zoe chairs the Holy
Family University Disability Eligibility Committee and periodically
provides on-campus disability awareness, as well as harassment and civil
rights training for faculty and staff.

Heather
received her Bachelor of Art Degree in Elementary Education from Kutztown
University of Pennsylvania and her Master of Science Degree in Counseling
Psychology, Student Affairs, from Holy Family University. Prior to obtaining
her graduate degree, Heather served as an intern student at the Holy Family
Counseling Center and has worked with students of the Summer Bridge Program
at Temple University. Heather is a current member of the American Counseling
Association (ACA). Heather is responsible for consultation, individual and
group counseling, and Residence Life staff support, as well as designing
and implementing workshops for the Holy Family community. Heather’s office is located
in the Campus Center, CC223.
Cindy Bienenfeld, Graduate Student Intern

Cindy Bienenfeld received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Maryland. Her nursing experience includes time spent as a postpartum nurse and a lactation consultant where she counseled women and conducted in-service seminars in breastfeeding practices. Cindy holds a graduate certificate in Sports Counseling from the California University of Pennsylvania and is a current member of the American College Counseling Association (ACCA), The National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A), and The American College Health Association (ACHA). Cindy was the graduate intern at the Counseling Center for the 2010-2011 academic year, and is returning for the 2011 fall semester to complete her training in pursuit of the Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology at Holy Family University. Upon completion of her degree, Cindy plans to pursue counseling in higher education with an interest in collegiate athletes.
During the Fall 2011 semester, Cindy’s office is located in NEB 201, and she will be focusing primarily on consultation, education, and intervention with students studying in the Nursing Program.
