Adolescence Directory Online
A service of the Center for Adolescent Studies at Indiana University, this is a directory to issues affecting the growth and development of adolescents.

Educator's Reference Desk
Formerly AskERIC, the Reference Desk provides lesson plans and information on a variety of education-related topics. Through the search interface, users can search over one million references to education-related topics in academic, professional, and scholarly publications.

Institute of Education
Comprised of the National Center for Education Research, the National Center for Education Statistics, and the National Center for Education Evaluation and Regional Assistance, the IES is the place to find research and statistics related to education.

ERIC
ERIC, the premier national information center for education materials, selects, organizes, maintains and disseminates educational materials through the ERIC database. Scholastic, Inc., a leading publisher of children's books and materials, maintains a comprehensive site for teachers.

These sites were selected by the Children and Technology Committee of the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association. Of particular interest are the sites for teachers, parents and librarians.

Although this web guide is for children, it's an eclectic source of information useful for teachers.

Association for Childhood Education International
ACEI promotes and supports children's development and education from birth to adolescence.

National Association for the Education of Young Children
NAEYC is comprised of educators and others serving children from birth to third grade.

National Council for the Social Studies
NCSS provides support for, and services to, social studies educators.

National Council of Teachers of English
