Academic Excellence, Practical Experience
Holy Family’s accredited academic programs support the University’s mission and Christian liberal-arts tradition. In addition to a core curriculum of philosophy, religious studies, humanities, and social and natural sciences, the School of Arts and Sciences emphasizes the development of spiritual, moral, and ethical values; critical, creative, and analytical thinking; aesthetic appreciation; scientific understanding and technological skills; and social responsibility.

At Holy Family, students actively participate in their learning to reach new understandings, and the classroom environment is hands-on and dynamic. Classes incorporate some of the latest computer and instructional technologies, including remote wireless laptop computers, video teleconferencing equipment, scanners, smart boards, satellite connections to remote sites, Blackboard access, and more. In fall 2003, we completed construction of a $3.5 million Science Center, which houses new classrooms and some of the region’s most advanced research laboratories and equipment. And our recently renovated Language Lab incorporates the newest computer networking technologies for learning and teaching Spanish, and other foreign languages.

As a student, you will master basic theories in your major while developing robust analytical, communication, and leadership skills. Low faculty-to-student ratios (1:13 or less in many classes) ensure you receive personal attention and mentoring throughout every stage of your academic career.

To support your classroom learning, Holy Family encourages students to gain practical experience through our cooperative education and internship programs. These opportunities enhance your skills and understanding of business principles while allowing you to explore different work settings and career opportunities.
