Parish Nurse Program (contact Program Coordinator)
The Parish Nurse Resource Program is designed to educate registered nurses to function in their communities as members of a ministry team. Through the healing ministry of the Church, the Parish Nurse will develop early-intervention programs in order to provide the community with access to healthy social and educational resources and promote positive changes in lifestyle.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
  • Describe a variety of parish nurse models
  • Discuss parish nursing practice in the context of professional nursing standards
  • Design a parish nurse program based on assessment of a congregation's population and needs, as well as an understanding of available resources
  • Evaluate how one's own spirituality can contribute to the psychological and spiritual care of clients
