Radiologic Science Degree Programs Holy Family Wins First Place in TechnibowlStudents in Holy Family University’s Associate of Science in Radiologic Science Program came in First Place at the 36th Annual Philadelphia Society of Radiologic Technologists Student Day and Technibowl Competition held at Thomas Jefferson University on March 30th. Second place winners were a team from Burlington County College and third place was awarded to a team from Albert Einstein Medical Center. All 24 students comprising Holy Family’s Radiologic Science Program Class of 2007 attended the competition and cheered on their winning teammates Rachel Klein and Jonathan Becan. Program Director Mark B. Ness and faculty also attended. During the Technibowl, 17 radiologic science program teams each composed of two students competed in a tournament to answer radiologic science questions. Officials from the Philadelphia Society of Radiologic Technologists served as judges. As First Place winners, Rachel Klein and Jonathan Becan each received a $150 prize from the Philadelphia Society of Radiologic Technologists and Holy Family’s Radiologic Science Program will receive a plaque in May. This was the first time Holy Family University has placed first in this competition that draws radiology students from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Holy Family's team placed 3rd in the 2006 Technibowl competition. The annual Student Day also included a job fair and keynote presentation. This year’s speaker was Gregory McDonald, D.O. from the Philadelphia Office of the Medical Examiner, who spoke on the role of x-ray technology during autopsy. Holy Family’s Radiologic Science Program includes an Associate of Science in Radiologic Science degree (professional-level) as well as a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Science (BSRS) degree completion program. ![]() 2007 Technibowl Winners - Rachel Klein and Jonathan Becan with program director Mark B.
