Dear Holy Family University Community:
Holy Family University was established by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth in 1954 to offer young people who might not have had access to higher education a chance to attend college. This mission is one that we’ve held close for nearly seven decades, and we honor it as an integral part of our identity.
Some students need financial access; some need academic and service access. And some need access that stretches beyond citizenship. The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program provides this for students across the United States, here at Holy Family University and elsewhere. DACA has allowed thousands of young people to pursue education or employment in the country they call home, a country they’ve known their entire lives.
I pray for our country. I pray for our young adults. Along with scores of college and university presidents, I urge the current administration to continue DACA.
