Dr. Mary Wombwell, Professor and Coordinator of the RN-BSN Program for the School of Nursing and Allied Health Professions (SNAHP), was presented with an award from the Pennsylvania League of Nursing (PLN) during the Pennsylvania League of Nursing Conference on April 7, held at Holy Family University’s Bensalem location.
The Nursing Faculty Award highlights successful nursing educators in higher education. Wombwell, who was nominated for the award by Dr. Catherine Heilferty, Associate Dean of SNAHP, was notified in February she had been selected as the winner by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
“This award highlights the work that faculty members do every day to be successfully engaged as a Nurse Educator,” Wombwell said. “I was very proud to be recognized for my professional and career accomplishments. The reward truly comes from my work with present and past students. These students persevere every day to achieve academic success and I am proud to be part of their efforts. To be honored by my peers is humbling and I thank those who have given me the guidance and support that allowed me to be a recipient of the 2016 PLN Nursing Education Faculty Award.”
According to the institutions website, “The Pennsylvania League for Nursing fosters the development of quality nursing education to meet the health care delivery needs of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.”
