HFU Presents February Art Exhibit: Ch'an Mind, Zen Mind by Jing Zhou

The Holy Family University Art Gallery presents "Ch'an Mind, Zen Mind: Visual Meditations on the Ultimate Reality and Absolute Calmness," an exhibition of digital prints by Jing Zhou.

This body of work reflects Zhou's spiritual experience through one of the most widely held oriental philosophies—Ch'an, also known as Zen. Ch'an's profound wisdom/teaching and Western art inspired these images. Every image in this series carries a unique philosophical concept with different aesthetic approach. She would like to communicate to her audience Ch'an's subtle atmosphere of Emptiness and Calmness by developing a personal visual language that expresses universal ideas. All images are high quality digital prints incorporating traditional art forms, such as photography, painting, printmaking, and drawing.

Exhibition Date: February 4–28, 2015
Artist Reception and Talk: 6–8pm, February 10, 2015
