Monday, Sept 21 | International Day of Peace, Diversity Team
The schedule for the Day of Peace is forthcoming.

Tuesday, Sept 22 | WMOF Service Day
Service activities will be scheduled throughout the day. Projects will include Aid for Friends and Catholic Social Services backpack campaign.

Catholic Social Services Backpack Campaign
Ed Connections is working with Catholic Community Services to conduct a back pack drive for children in Foster Care.We will be collecting gentle used or new bags of any kind and size. These bags will be used for both male and female children in the Foster Care program. Every day, countless numbers of children and youth enter and transition throughout the foster care system. These children are given very short notice and have no time to prepare. In most instances, these children have just a few moments to gather up their clothing and prized personal possessions before being placed in a new, strange and unfamiliar setting of a foster family or a group home. More often than not these jolted transitions, result in throwing everything in trash bags which can be demoralizing and can have a negative effect on their confidence. This Back Pack drive is to build their self-confidence and create a sense of security. These bags will give them a secure place to keep the important items that they treasure during this hard and confusing time in their lives.

Wednesday, Sept 23 | Film Viewing, Panel Discussion, The Family Closet

12:50 pm | Open Viewing/Presidential Lecture – CSFN Charism
During WMOF Week, Holy Family University will air the first of seven videos comprising Year 1 of a three-year "Continuing the Mission" program for all who work, teach, and study at CSFN sponsored-ministries. This formation program for mission advancement has been created in the tradition of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth by the Sisters, whose charism is Family. The Year 1 series of videos introduces viewers to the Sisters' newly articulated core values: "Faithful Listening," "Loving Relationships," and "Discovering God in the Everyday." The first video being shown during WMOF Week focuses on the historical context, acquainting viewers with the charism of Family--past, present, and future.

Father Mark Hunt, Holy Family University professor, will speak about the Holy Family and the model they provide us all. The presentation, part of Holy Family University's week long of observance of the World Meeting of Families culminating in Pope Francis' visit to Philadelphia, will study key texts from both Testaments of Sacred Scripture as well as writings from the Fathers of the Church to identify virtues of the Holy Family and their life in the context of first-century Bethlehem and Nazareth. The presentation will conclude by examining how those virtues, essential in the biblical era, are still not only valid but necessary and practical for life today.
