Alexandra has worked in higher education for over 25 years, starting her professional career at Calumet College of St. Joseph (CCSJ), where she worked in the Development Office as a Coordinator of Special Events. After three years she moved to the President’s Office as Assistant to the President/Chief of staff for nine years, then served as Vice President for Student Affairs for six years and as Vice President for Business and Finance/CFO for three years. During her 21 years at CCSJ she was dedicated to serving their mission of empowering students to build better lives. Through successful grant writing, Alexandra created a Student Support Services Department that drove a 20% increase in student retention. She also served as a mentor and tutor for students on campus for many years.
After CCSJ, Alexandra moved to Memphis, Tennessee and served as the Director of Student Success at The University of Memphis for a year and a half. Serving as grant administrator for two Department of Education TRIO grants and one Suder Foundation grant, the primary objective of Alexandra’s position was to increase retention and completion rates for at-risk students. In the fall of 2013, Alexandra moved to the Northeast and joined the Enrollment Services team at Harford Community College in Bel Air, MD as the Associate Vice President (AVP) for Enrollment Services. As AVP, Alexandra led an institutional-wide team who developed and implemented the first Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) plan at the college in over ten years As a result new student enrollment goals for 2015 and 2016 were exceeded by substantial margins. Alexandra also implemented first semester advising with her admissions team to streamline the admissions process and create a “One Stop Shop” in the Enrollment Services Department.
Alexandra grew up in East Chicago, Indiana, where she was a first generation college student-- the only one of four siblings to graduate with a four-year degree and beyond. When not working, Alexandra loves to travel, bike, and hike; always carrying her camera with her as she is an avid photographer.
