Join us for our next book club meeting. All students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members are welcome!

We'll meet in the Philadelphia Campus Library on Tuesday, March 10 from 12:50 to 1:50 p.m.

We're discussing There, There by Tommy Orange

We're excited to be part of the One Book, One Philadelphia program again this year. Imagine thousands of people reading and discussing the same title! The Free Library is offering tons of programs highlighting the themes in this year's selection There, There. For more information see   https://libwww.freelibrary.org/programs/onebook/

Here's the scoop from the One Book website -

"Set against a backdrop of sacred traditions, historical violence, and the metropolis of Oakland, California, Tommy Orange's debut novel is "a comic vision haunted by profound sadness" (Louise Erdrich). A finalist for the 2019 Pulitzer Prize, There There is a multi-voiced epic of 12 Native characters whose contemporary lives intertwine across the urban landscape in ways they may not yet realize.

They're all headed to the Big Oakland Powwow, and toward a crescendo of sacrifice, unspeakable loss, and loving heroism. Hailed as an instant classic, There There is "funny and profane and conscious of the violence that runs like a scar through American culture" (The Seattle Times)." Retrieved from https://libwww.freelibrary.org/programs/onebook/obop20/
