Ziegler Named to CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team

Women’s soccer senior Jacqueline Ziegler was named to the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and announced by the organization in December. Ziegler is the first-ever women’s soccer player at Holy Family to receive the honor.

To be named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically, a starter or an important reserve player with significant athletic accomplishments, own a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30, and be a first-team CoSIDA Academic All-District® selection.

Ziegler holds an impressive 3.96 cumulative grade point average as a Nursing major and was a first-team CoSIDA Academic All-America® recipient. She is the first-ever to receive first-team recognition among the previous honorees at Holy Family. Ziegler is a three-time Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Academic selection and was among 40 Holy Family student-athletes inducted into the Pennsylvania Psi Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, for the 2020-21 academic year. This past fall, Ziegler was also named the 2021 PhillySIDA Academic All-Area Women’s Soccer Performer of the Year for her achievements on the field and in the classroom.

Additionally, Ziegler was named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-East Region first team. It marked her first all-region selection in her career. Ziegler was also selected to the All-CACC first team for the second straight season and as mentioned prior, was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District® team.

Ziegler finished the season with the team lead in scoring with a career-high 20 points. She totaled six goals and a career-high eight assists. Ziegler finished second in the CACC in assists and fifth in total points. The Tigers were 8-0-2 in games that Ziegler recorded at least one point. In 54 career games, Ziegler totaled 20 goals and 19 assists for 59 points.

Ziegler is the fourth Holy Family student-athlete to earn CoSIDA Academic All-American honors. Prior honorees include two-time Academic All-American, Taurai Augustin ’18 (Cross Country/Track & Field), Danielle McDevitt ’13 (Softball), and Sarah Ambach ’14 (Women’s Volleyball).
