The Office of Equity and Inclusion exists to encourage inclusive excellence, educate the University and community, and examine the systems, policies, and processes at Holy Family University to ensure all persons across the spectrum of identity experience an equitable, accessible, and vibrant community in which to learn, work, and live.
The Office of Equity and Inclusion embraces a comprehensive and holistic view of equity, diversity, and identity-lending to the richness that is humanity and enhances the University's vision of Family and our values of Respect.
To be an instrumental partner in a University community centered upon the acknowledgment and support of the whole and total person, modeling inclusive excellence in our institution’s full vestment in the access and equity of our students, partnering collaboratively with our stakeholders to ensure Holy Family University remains a model institution of higher education.

Director of Equity and Inclusion/Section 504 & ADA Coordinator/Deputy Title IX Coordinator
Reporting to the Dean of Students, the Director of Equity and Inclusion/Section 504 & ADA Coordinator/Deputy Title IX Coordinator provides leadership and vision to equity and inclusion initiatives, and collaborates with campus partners in building an institutional approach to equity and diversity. April supports the University as its Deputy Title IX Coordinator and extensively assists in the coordination and strategies of the University’s Title IX and Non-discrimination compliance efforts. Additionally, she will be leading the development of education programs and extensive University-wide training, as well as leadership initiatives and strategies to expand the knowledge of our campus around topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

April Washington is a dedicated advocate and professional with more than ten years of diversified experience in equal access and inclusion, strategic leadership, drafting institutional policies, procedures, and practices for inclusive climates for persons across the spectrum of identity in higher education.
Prior to joining Holy Family University, April served as director, associate director, and assistant director of accessibility and disability services in higher education. April worked at Maxwell U.S. Air Force Base, Bucks County Community College, and Temple University. Her scholarly interests and activism include applied theology, diversity and inclusion, interfaith partnership, and economic equity and justice. In her leisure, April enjoys reading, traveling with loved ones, gardening, and Philadelphia sports. Every voice and identity are welcomed and she looks forward to connecting!
