Sister Francesca Onley, 88, a Sister of the Holy Family of Nazareth for 71 years, passed away April 17 in Philadelphia. She served as the president and chief administrative officer of Holy Family University in Philadelphia beginning in 1981 until her retirement in 2014 at the age of 81.

It has been particularly challenging over the past year for many organizations at Holy Family University to recognize the extraordinary achievements of their membership while the University has been unable to host traditional in-person ceremonies. Yet virtual ceremonies can also spotlight the special accomplishments of students in very meaningful ways.
On March 27, Holy Family University hosted the 2021 SEPCHE Honors Conference, a virtual edition of the annual education showcase event for students at the eight independent schools of higher education in southeastern Pennsylvania that constitute SEPCHE (Southeastern Pennsylvania Consortium for Higher Education).
When the worsening COVID-19 pandemic resulted in many states and cities implementing policies to restrict in-person work for many employees across the world beginning in early 2020, both employees and employers had to quickly adapt to fundamental changes in the way their profession operated and readjusting their traditional work-life balance.
Renowned Online Teaching Expert Available to Speak with Media
Carmen Maria Machado, author of the bestselling memoir In the Dream House and the award-winning short story collection Her Body and Other Parties, was the third speaker in the Holy Family University Distinguished Writers Series. The free event was held on Zoom on March 17 to a full virtual house.
Suicide is the second leading cause of death among young people. AFSP is working to change that.
Holy Family University and Glen Foerd will co-host a Speaker Series event featuring American History Professor Brent Cebul, Ph.D., who will present “Liberals and Business: A Forgotten Story of Love Found and Love Lost in the 20th Century U.S.”
