On April 17, Holy Family University’s Social and Behavioral Sciences Association (SBSA) hosted the Out of the Darkness Campus Walk, sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), to raise awareness of suicide and mental health issues.
Suicide is the second leading cause of death among young people. AFSP is working to change that.
Last year, Holy Family University doctorate student Jack Mills, M.Ed. visited One Bright Ray Community Adult High School on the campus of Strawberry Mansion High School in North Philadelphia to meet about a potential graduate research assistantship on the recommendation of School of Education faculty Janet McNellis, Ph.D., associate dean and Roger W. Gee, Ph.D., professor.
