Are you looking to switch to a career in nursing? If you currently have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and you are seeking to become a professional registered nurse—we have a program for you. If you are ready to commit to a full-time course schedule, you can have a BSN degree in as few as 14 months with our Daytime Cohort program. And, if you work during the day, you can now get your BSN degree in as few as 22 months with our Evenings + Weekends Cohort. This program meets two nights during the week plus clinicals on weekends. Our Accelerated Second Degree BSN nursing curriculum focuses on the development of management and leadership skills, culture-sensitive health care, individual and family assessment skills, and research in nursing practice. We are proud to offer the premier Second Degree BSN program options in the Bucks County and Northeast Philadelphia area.

What are the goals of the Accelerated Second Degree BSN program?

Holy Family University’s BSN program is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), 655 K Street, NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC, 20001, phone (202) 887-6791. Graduates of this pre-licensure baccalaureate program are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

The goals of the program are to:

  • Provide a nursing curriculum that is designed to meet global healthcare needs
  • Prepare you to practice as a professional nurse generalist
  • Educate you to provide culturally competent and ethical care
  • Provide you a foundation for graduate study

A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree will expand your eligibility for a variety of positions in hospital settings, family & older adult services and other corporate settings, including:

  • Acute care
  • Hospitals
  • Long-term care
  • Skilled facilities
  • Outpatient facilities
  • Community health
  • Eligible for management positions
  • Home health, Hospice care, Palliative care, Assisted Living, Retirement homes.
  • Specialty areas, ICE, ER, CCU, PEDS, Perioperative Practice, OB & Mental Health
  • School nurse, Physician offices, Travel nursing
  • Educational units (diploma and LPN programs)
  • Staff development

International Students

  • F1 VISA holders are not eligible at this time for the 2nd Degree BSN program.
  • Submit all academic credentials to World Education Services for a course-by-course review
  • Submit official scores of the TOEFL or IELTS exam (minimum required score: 79 on the TOEFL Internet-based test, or 213 on the computer-based test. A score of 6.0 or better required on the IELTS.)

Program Tuition and Financial Aid

The Second Degree Fast Track and Evening/Weekend Track tuition is $36,000 effective July 1, 2019. There will also be fees which include ATI Testing Fee, General Fees may apply, and incidental expenses for items such as books, uniforms, etc., above this amount.

There are no grants or scholarships available for the Second Degree BSN Fast Track or Evening/Weekend Tracks. Click here for Holy Family University Financial Aid Information.
The only type of financial aid available is federal student loans and these are only available if the student still has federal student loan eligibility remaining after completion of their first bachelor's degree. Otherwise, the student must apply for private educational loans which are awarded based on creditworthiness/credit scores, often carry higher interest rates than federal student loans, and may require a co-signor for applicants with limited credit history.
