Emergency Medical Services and Leadership, B.S. — Course Requirements
Program Focus
Our curriculum prepares graduates to work with diverse populations and adapt to evolving needs in the Emergency Medical Services and Leadership fields. The program focuses on four core areas:
- Foundational knowledge in Emergency Medical Practices and Organizational Leadership
- Advanced clinical skills and Emergency Medical Preparedness
- Emergency response planning and organizational system improvements
- Ethical decision making and Professional applications in emergency medical practices and interdisciplinary collaboration for organizational Team Leadership
Program Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate knowledge of foundational principles, terminology, and career pathways within the field of Emergency Medical Services and Leadership
- Analyze and articulate the educational, personal, and organizational factors that influence the pursuit and advancement of EMT, Paramedic, and leadership roles in emergency response systems
- Evaluate leadership challenges and apply critical thinking strategies in diverse emergency response scenarios to enhance decision-making and team effectiveness
- Design, implement, and assess initiatives or training programs that promote advanced clinical knowledge, leadership competencies, and system improvement in EMS and healthcare environments
- Exhibit effective communication, teamwork, and ethical decision-making skills necessary to lead multidisciplinary teams and improve the quality and efficiency of patient care delivery
