Education

B.A., Biology, Franklin and Marshall College
Ph.D., Pharmacology and Physiology, Drexel University

After earning my Ph.D. from Drexel's College of Medicine and honing my research skills as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Wistar Institute, I joined Holy Family University in 2013 and never looked back. I teach in the biology department, advise pre-medical students, and serve as Assistant Dean of Natural Science and Mathematics where I get to shape not just individual courses, but entire programs. As a researcher, I'm fascinated by how viruses like influenza evolve to outsmart our immune systems, and what that means for building vaccines that can keep up.

Research Interests

My research follows the sneaky evolution of influenza viruses. Specifically how tiny point mutations allow the flu to dodge vaccines and our immune systems. It's a real-life game of biological cat and mouse, and the stakes are high: understanding these mutations is key to designing vaccines that can actually keep up with a rapidly changing virus.
