Office of Holistic Academic Advising
All undergraduate students must contact their advisor before registering for classes. Non-matriculated and undecided undergraduate students should contact the Office of Undergraduate Holistic Academic Advising, located in the 2nd Floor of the Campus Center in rooms 201, 202 and 204, to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor. The Office of Undergraduate Holistic Academic Advising can be reached by telephone at 267-341-3221 or via text at 267-609-9240.
Holistic Academic Advising
Mission: Holistic Academic Advising provides students a professional advising experience that is inclusive, welcoming, respectful, and contributes to students’ feelings of belonging to the HFU family. Advisors assist students in an intentional exploration and proactive planning of educational opportunities designed to support degree completion enriching students’ academic and life goals.
Starting in Fall 2023, new first-year students are assigned a professional advisor based on their major or undeclared status. Students remain with this advisor through sophomore year. Transfer students will meet with a professional advisor for their initial registration, depending on their class level will be assigned a professional advisor or faculty advisor in their program. Once students are preparing to enter junior status they will be assigned a faculty advisor.

Holy Family students can contact the Office of Holistic Academic Advising virtually through email (academicadvising@holyfamily.edu) or Google Chat. (Please note that virtual contact will only be available during office hours.)
To initiate a chat with a representative, please click the button below to access Google Chat. For your first chat with us, you will need to search for us by putting in our email address (academicadvising@holyfamily.edu) in the find people search box. If you are using a mobile device, you may need to download either Google Chat or Google Hangouts.
To receive immediate chat functionality, you will need to use your Holy Family email account. If needed, you or the advisor can initiate a video call directly from the chat or through your personal WebEx room.

First-Year Student
Initial Registration
If you are a First-Time Freshman that is starting at Holy Family, you will meet with a Professional Academic Advisor to create an academic plan and register for courses. Registration will begin in early April for the Fall semester and October for the Spring semester. Once you have paid your deposit our office will reach out, by email, with next step information.
Advisor Assignment
Students are assigned a Professional Academic Advisor for their first two years. Once they have completed 55 credits or at junior status they will be assigned to a Faculty Advisor. If you are in an Associate Degree program, at Holy Family, this transition happens within the first year of the program.
Transfer Student

Students are assigned a Faculty Advisor once they have completed 55 credits or at junior status. If you enter with less than 55 credits you will be assigned to a Professional Academic Advisor. If you are in an Associate Degree program, at Holy Family, this transition happens within the first year of the program.
Undecided / Exploring Majors
Pathways and Possibilities Course
This course is designed for students who are currently exploring academic options and have not yet declared a major. Through engaging, reflective activities, peer collaboration, one-on-one advising, and mentorship opportunities, students will build clarity around their interests, values, and future direction. By the end of the course, students will have created a personal academic roadmap, gained confidence in their decision-making process, and developed meaningful relationships with faculty and peers.
This course is a Tier 2 Elective, it can be used towards the requirements of any program. If all Tier 2 electives have been fulfilled it can count as a Free Elective.
