Tiger Tutoring
Why Choose Tiger Tutoring?
- It's more than just assistance – it's empowerment!
- We're here to create YOUR success story, and we do it one tutoring session at a time.
Tiger Tutoring offers an array of diverse services, at no cost, designed to serve the learning needs of students at all levels of achievement. The goal of Tiger Tutoring is to help students to become independent learners to achieve greater academic success, and to encourage them to take full advantage of the learning experience. We work in concert with faculty, staff, and all other academic and student services.
Before scheduling an HFU tutoring session, please read the Tiger Tutoring Rules and Responsibilities
- Tiger Tutoring is available UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS ONLY.
- Sessions with Holy Family peer and professional tutors are currently available in-person or online. (Please note, the online option is temporary for summer and fall 2025.)
- Students must sign up using their HFU email.
- Tutoring sessions with HFU tutors are limited to 2 hours per week. Session booking will be monitored: if a student schedules more than two hours a week, the most recent bookings of the week, past 2 hours will be cancelled, and the student will be notified via email.
- Small group (2-4) tutoring is welcome if and only if approved by the tutor. Please contact your assigned tutor for permission if you would like to bring a classmate to the session.
- Walk-ins are welcome, but will depend on tutor availability. Priority is given to those students who schedule appointments.
- Students are expected to arrive on time, and cancel appointments if they can no longer attend. If a student does not attend without cancellation, and will be considered a NO SHOW.
- Students are expected to come to a tutoring session prepared with content they would like to review or skills they want to work on. Please do not show up empty handed. Have notes, PowerPoints, practice tests, study guides, etc. ready for review.
- The tutor's role is to give insights into lessons, concepts, and/or procedures. Students should NOT expect tutors to complete work for them; tutors are not to help with completion of any take home or online test, quizzes, or exams. Instances of students asking for help completing an online or take-home test or quiz will be reported to the director of Tiger Tutoring.
- If you have any questions, or need help scheduling, please contact Tiger Tutoring at tigertutoring@holyfamily.edu.
