Nursing 50th Celebration

A 50th Anniversary Message from Dean Margaret Harkins

Dean Margaret Harkins

This academic year, Holy Family University will celebrate 50 Years of Nursing Excellence! For five decades, our nursing students have been holistically trained to be critical thinkers, collaborators, and highly successful patient-centered care professionals who enjoy a life of far-reaching service in the tradition of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth.

Holy Family nursing graduates are found in every major hospital and healthcare institution throughout our region, as well as making their mark far beyond the Greater Philadelphia area. Our highly-skilled graduates have made the University synonymous with excellence in nursing and health sciences. I have often heard, that Holy Family Nurses are easy to identify because of their authentic, distinctive approach and their unyielding and thorough work ethic.

This year-long celebration is a time for the Holy Family community — students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends — to commemorate this milestone, connect with our community, and cast a vision for the future of our School of Nursing & Health Sciences.

We hope you will join us for all of the 50th Anniversary activities as we recognize our amazing Nursing Alumni. Whether you can attend the campus celebration, the Gala, or both, our wonderful reputation and successes are ultimately because of you, and we are honored to celebrate your achievements together as a community!

Gratefully,
Dr. Maggie Harkins
