Assistant Professor of Biology

The School of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Biology. The area of expertise within the field of biology is open. Candidates who can teach courses to support our health sciences majors (Anatomy and Physiology I and II and Microbiology) is desired. The position will have a start date of August 2024.

The successful candidate should have demonstrated excellence in teaching higher education. It is also expected that the successful candidate will maintain a commitment to excellence in teaching, diversity, scholarship, and service.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

•    Teaching of courses in their assigned discipline
•    Maintaining academic excellence in their classrooms
•    Advising students in their assigned discipline
•    Research/scholarship mentoring and supervision
•    Participation in school- and university-wide committees and initiatives 

Qualifications

•    Candidates must hold a PhD degree in Biology by the start date (ABD will be considered as long as the degree is conferred by the start date)
