Assistant Professor of Psychology

The Department of Counseling Psychology at Holy Family University invites applications for a full-time core faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level in our Doctor of Psychology in Counseling Psychology program beginning August 2024, with a possible January 2024 start date. The program has a strong commitment to the recognition of issues such as culture, race, and ethnicity as well as areas of diversity such as gender, age, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, and ability.  
The successful candidate should have demonstrated excellence in teaching in higher education. The department seeks a candidate whose specialization is in the areas of Multiculturalism, Feminism, Social Justice and Advocacy. It is also expected that the successful candidate will maintain a commitment to excellence in teaching, diversity, scholarship, and service. 
 

Duties & Responsibilities (not all inclusive)

  • Teaching courses in an array of foundational courses in psychology including but not limited to: Multiculturalism & Feminism in Counseling Psychology, Social Justice & Advocacy
  • Assessment & Evaluation of learners
  • Student selection, orientation and assessment
  • Advising and mentoring students
  • Research/scholarship mentoring and supervision, particularly PsyD dissertations

Qualifications

  • Candidates must hold a PsyD or PhD degree in psychology (or a closely related field) from an APA accredited institution.
  • licensed psychologist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
