Holy Family University Exhibits its Mission Core Values of Service with Canvases on Campus

Canvases on Campus

As one of the Mission Core Values of Holy Family University, Service is a principle of significant importance to the University community. Recently, the University has spotlighted the service of the Holy Family University community by affixing canvases in buildings on both the Philadelphia and Newtown campuses featuring photos of students, staff, and faculty engaging in service projects.

The artwork also includes quotes from figures known for their commitment to serving others, including Pope Francis, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Blessed Mary of Jesus the Good Shepherd, Frances Siedliska, the Foundress of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth.

“The Mission Office initiated the project to provide canvases illustrating our Mission Core Value of service with quotes from famous individuals combined with photos of Holy Family University students, faculty and staff, and community volunteers to inspire everyone to realize the joy that can come from helping others," said Margaret Kelly, Vice President for Mission. “Service shows how much the Value of Family really means to us. Our actions speak louder than words. You can feel the caring and the compassion of our students, faculty, staff, and community volunteers for others. Be inspired by them and by the quotes on the canvases challenging us to do more.”
