Position Summary

Alpha House, an early childhood center located on the campus of Holy Family University, is seeking passionate, nurturing, and skilled early childhood educators for PreK4 and Kindergarten classrooms. The start date is August 2026.

Teachers are responsible for fostering a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the academic, social-emotional, physical, and spiritual growth of each child. As part of a Catholic educational community and lab-school model in partnership with Holy Family University’s School of Education, educators are expected to integrate faith, best instructional practices, and innovative early childhood methodologies into daily instruction.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and early childhood best practices
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students requiring additional support or enrichment
  • Build a positive, respectful classroom culture that supports all learners
  • Supervise all daily activities including arrival, dismissal, classroom learning, outdoor play, snack, and rest periods while ensuring the safety and well-being of all students at all times
  • Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, specialists, and staff to support a cohesive and nurturing school environment
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions with students, families, and colleagues
  • Uphold confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries
  • Respond effectively to dynamic classroom environments and student needs
  • Lift and assist children as needed; ability to sit, kneel, and stand without assistance

Required Qualifications:

  • One of the following is required:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or related field
      OR
    • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 30 credits in a related field
      OR
    • Associate’s Degree in a related field with 2+ years of experience
      OR
    • Associate’s Degree with 30 credits in a related field with 3+ years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of early childhood development and best practices
  • Ability to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creativity, flexibility, and enthusiasm for working with young children
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Familiarity with instructional technology and classroom tools
