Position Summary
The School of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position in our interdisciplinary Philosophy, Political Science, Economics, and Sociology (PPES) program to begin August 2026. We are seeking candidates with expertise in Political Science or Sociology. Candidates with interdisciplinary teaching or research experience are especially encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and be enthusiastic about engaging students in interdisciplinary approaches to contemporary issues in politics, economics, ethics, and society. It is expected that the candidate will maintain active involvement in teaching, scholarship, and service.
Responsibilities
- Teaching courses within the PPES program, including core and advanced classes
- Maintaining academic excellence in the classroom
- Advising students in the PPES program
- Sustaining an active research and scholarship agenda
- Participating in university and school-wide committees, initiatives, and other service opportunities
Education and Experience Requirements
- Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or terminal degree in Political Science, Sociology, or a closely related field by the start date (ABD will be considered if degree is conferred by the start date)
- Demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary education
