Position Summary
The School of Arts and Sciences at Holy Family University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Studio Art/Graphic Design to begin August 2026.
Position Description
We seek a faculty member with expertise in Studio Art and/or Graphic Design who can contribute broadly to our undergraduate Art curriculum. While the successful candidate may have a primary focus in Graphic Design, the ability to support studio art courses is essential. In this role, the faculty member would also be encouraged to create interdisciplinary opportunities for students to engage in high impact practice courses. In addition to teaching responsibilities, this position includes service as the Art Program Coordinator, providing leadership and administrative support for the Art program and the university art gallery.

Responsibilities
Teaching and Faculty Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching core and advanced courses within the Art program
- Maintaining academic excellence and inclusive, engaging learning environments
- Advising Art majors
- Participating in university, school, and departmental committees and service initiatives
Art Program Coordinator Responsibilities
The Program Coordinator provides leadership and operational support for the Art program, including:
- Maintaining studio spaces, equipment, and overall cleanliness
- Ordering and managing art supplies and materials each semester
- Coordinating course schedules and staffing each semester
- Hiring and observing adjunct faculty
- Ordering textbooks for all Art courses
- Conducting annual program assessment
- Advising Art majors and supporting prospective student recruitment
- Attending Open House events and providing individual student tours
- Managing the art gallery website
- Employing and supervising work-study students
- Supporting the operation and programming of the campus art gallery
Education and Experience Requirements
- MFA, Ph.D., or other terminal degree in Art, Graphic Design, or a closely related field (ABD considered if degree is completed by the start date)
- Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence
- Interest in interdisciplinary education and collaboration
- Ability to support both studio art and graphic design coursework
