Position Summary

The School of Education invites applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Education to teach graduate and undergraduate courses, focusing on Early Childhood Education (Primary/Elementary). The start date is August 2026.

The successful candidate should have demonstrated excellence in teaching higher education. It is also expected that the successful candidate will maintain a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and teaching graduate and undergraduate level courses in a variety of formats, including face-to-face and online (asynchronous and synchronous)
  • Maintaining academic excellence in the classroom
  • Serve as dissertation chair and on dissertation committees
  • Providing meaningful service to the School, the University, and the community
  • Participate in school- and university-wide committees and initiatives
  • Planning and carrying out an active research agenda
  • Serving as advisor to undergraduate and graduate students

Education & Experience Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Certification as a PK-4 or K-6 teacher, preferably in PA, or the willingness to obtain certification
  • Earned doctorate in an Education area (or ABD with an expected completion date before August 1, 2026)
  • Experience teaching in K-12 schools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with instructional technology
  • History of participating in LEA/IHE partnerships

    • Reason(s) for interest in this position
    • Summary of teaching philosophy and examples of how these are applied in course creation and delivery
    • Any other information that may be useful to the search committee (ex. familiarity with instructional technology, experience supervising education students in field placements, highlights of relevant career accomplishments, community partnerships created or took part in, grants written or received, etc)
  • A curriculum vitae that includes a list of college courses previously taught, indicating the format in which each were taught (face-to-face, synchronous online, asynchronous online, and/or blended/hybrid)
  • Official undergraduate and graduate transcripts
  • Three letters of recommendation must be sent from the senders to the search committee at careers@holyfamily.edu
