Orientation: Time/Schedule

We will have three days for Orientation and each student is able to choose which day they want to attend. Spots are first come, first serve, and will fill up quickly. Sign up as soon as you can! Summer 2017 Orientation dates are July 21, July 28, and August 11. Once a date are filled, you will have to choose from the dates, which are left.

If you are not able to attend the New Student Orientation, Tiger Tags can be picked up in the Education and Technology Center (ETC) Room 105. After you have received your Tiger Tag, you can register your card with security and obtain a parking permit. Every car parked on campus needs a parking pass with the exception of one time visitors. Orientation Registration and breakfast starts at 7:15 AM and the first session begins at 8:00 AM. There will be informational sessions and activities throughout the morning with a lunch period. Both Students and Guests will be busy until 3:30 PM. There is the option to attend affinity group sessions (Students of Color, LGBT+ Students, and students who are first in their family to attend college) along with get a tour of the campus and St. Joseph’s (residence hall for First Year students). These optional sessions begin at 3:30PM.

Throughout the day you will get a chance to meet with the Dean of your school, other new students, current students, and various offices on campus like Financial Aid and Security, which offer support services for you. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided. We will also have optional sessions in the afternoon, including affinity groups for our Students of Color, LGBTQ+ students, and Students who are first in their family to attend college. In the affinity groups, you will be able to meet students, staff, and faculty who can answer any question you may have about what it is like to attend Holy Family.

No, it's free! You also get free breakfast and snacks! There will be gluten-free and vegetarian options.

Yes, each student is able to bring two guests. As long as they are properly registered, their food is free, as well. Registration is necessary to ensure there is enough food for everyone.

Orientation: People/Guests

Students will be provided with any items they need for the day. We want to encourage students bring any items they need that are essential to their daily life: medications, sunscreen, sunglasses, inhaler, etc.
Each student is able to bring two guests with them to orientation. Your guests can be parents, guardians, or anyone else who helps to support and guide you through your college career. These guests will go through a separate Orientation Schedule.

Roommate pairings will be released during the first week of August. For those attending Orientation on July 21st, there is a chance that you will be able to meet your roommate. For the July 28th or August 11th orientation, it is more likely that you would be able to meet your roommate. Please note it does depend on what day your roommate registers for Orientation.

Absolutely! We want all incoming students to meet other incoming students along with current Holy Family student leaders to start building connections before the start of classes in the fall. In fact, at orientation, you will be assigned into a group with an orientation leader and other incoming students.

Students should have received an email after completing their placement test with Academic Advising. The registration link was included in that email. You can also find registration information on the Orientation Website.
Orientation is a great first step to your journey at Holy Family University. We encourage all incoming students attend orientation to build relationships with other incoming students, current students, faculty, and staff at Holy Family. It is very highly recommended that you attend Orientation.
Yes! You will get an application for a parking pass in your Orientation packet. Campus Security will process the requests for parking passes throughout the day and have them available for pick up during the Resource Fair at 3PM.

Yes! The bookstore will be open from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM on all three days of Orientation.
