Orientation: Time/Schedule

When is orientation?

We will have three days for First-Year Orientation and two days for Transfer Orientation. Each day will have a morning or afternoon session option to choose from. Each student is able to choose which day and time they want to attend. Spots are first come, first serve, and will fill up quickly. Sign up as soon as you can!

Summer 2021 Orientation dates are:

  • July 23, August 6, and August 20 for First Year students; and
  • July 30 and August 20 for Transfer students.

Once a date is filled, you will have to choose from the dates which are left.

How long does orientation last? What does the schedule look like?

Throughout the day you will get a chance to meet with the Dean of your school, other new and current students, and various offices on campus like financial aid and security, which offer support services for you.

There will also be informational sessions for students and guests  providing information necessary to beginning your journey at Holy Family. In-person Orientation days will last about 3.5 hours, including time for registration and attendance at our campus Resource Fair. Light refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

What if I cannot attend any of the Orientation Dates?

If you are not able to attend Orientation in-person, we encourage you to tune in virtually. All Orientation events during the morning session(s) will be able to view online in addition to attending in-person. Links to view these events will be posted in the Orientation Canvas page.

Will any Orientation dates be hosted virtually?

All the in-person Orientation sessions offered during the morning session will be available to view online. Links to view these sessions will be posted in the Orientation Canvas page. There will be pre-recorded sessions and other information pertaining to campus resources and policies students can view on Canvas. We encourage students to view these sessions and become familiar with our resources prior to the start of the semester.

Additionally, there will be engagement opportunities throughout the summer where students can join in online discussions. These optional activities will be hosted by Holy Family students, staff, and faculty and will provide a space for students to connect with one another and get their questions answered. Information about these events will be posted in Canvas in addition to the Office of Student Success and Holy Family University social media accounts.
