Sister Maureen McGarrity, CSFN, PhD
The president is the chief executive officer of the University and the official adviser to the Board of Trustees. As the educational and administrative head of the University, the president exercises a general superintendence over all the affairs of the institution, and brings such matters to the attention of the board as appropriate to keep the board fully informed in meeting its policy-making responsibilities.

Sister Maureen is a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth (CSFN). As the fifth president of Holy Family University, Sister Maureen brings nearly four decades of experience in Catholic higher education. Prior to becoming president, Sister Maureen was provost of the University and oversaw academic affairs, enrollment management, marketing-communications, institutional research, and student life.
Sister Maureen's academic and administrative experience is extensive. Early in her career, she was associate professor and worked her way up to department chair, division head, dean, vice president for academic affairs, associate provost, and, most recently, provost. During her tenure at Holy Family, she also led the efforts towards achieving several reaccreditations for the University.
Sister Maureen's background in the sciences fuels her passion for data-driven analysis and her responsiveness to external variables. She believes that Holy Family University's excellence is a result of re-inventing itself as needed, while remaining committed to its Mission and core values.
